What is “Welcome In”?
A group activity open to older folk, both men and women, providing opportunities for friendship, care and support plus fun together.
Where is "Welcome In"?
We meet in the fellowship hall (via the main Church entrance) at Wonthaggi Baptist Church. Click here for a map and directions.
When is "Welcome In"?
Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm during school terms.
Occasionally these times vary to include a shared lunch or special activity.
A "Bright Spot"
Each week at 2pm we have a short time of sharing and encouragement from one of the many folk who attend.
Games
We play a variety of board games, e.g. Scrabble, carpet bowls, card games, e.g. Uno, and much more.
Social Fellowship
Everyone interested in coming just for the companionship is warmly invited to join us.
Time can be spent one on one, in small or larger groups, in a warm and comfortable environment.
Craft Activities
Group members are encouraged to bring craft ideas for themselves and others who may be interested.
Flexibility
Members can arrive or leave at any time to suit their own schedules, and may switch activities at any time.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are available on a self-serve basis at any time during the afternoon.
Faith
As a Christian group we celebrate Christmas and Easter, say grace before meals, and may include Christian themes in our programs.
Cost
Where possible we appreciate a gold coin donation to cover the cost of refreshments.
